In this issue we feature US-based photographer Ginger Cheh who gained remarkable access to the Dalai Lama and produced an impressive body of work on the Tibetan diaspora. We talk to Mark Gregory ARPS about his successful A panel distinctions submission on a community of women finding peace and calm working on their allotments.
We also feature Spanish photographer Jordi Jon Pardo’s work on an African community living and working in southern Spain; and Peter Range’s documentary photo essay on Geronimo, an alpaca culled despite a high-profile campaign in the United Kingdom to save the animal from what many believed to be an unfair and unnecessary death. This issue also looks at images that were shortlisted for the Documentary Photography Awards 2023, with submissions across all three different categories – Open, Student and RPS Member.
And we still have our regular 'On the Bookshelf' column, which in this issue reviews Inis Meáin by Chris Rodmell.
