Thinking of Ukraine by Karen Brickley
These images were photographed within a twenty minute walk of my home, on sunny blue sky days. The kind of days to make your heart sing.
My thoughts however were with the people of Ukraine. Under attack from Russia, the conflict brought misery and heartbreak to the nation, but they remain unbowed.
Using combinations of the yellow and blue of the Ukrainian flag I sought to explore emotions and themes connected to the war within simple seasonal local scenes.
