A party of six met at Paxton Pits in Cambridgeshire on Sunday in cloudy and very windy conditions, far from ideal for an outing looking for birds (very few braved the wind), fungi ( a limited number of species but some good clumps) and macro subjects hunkered down in the vegetation. As the day progressed and the wind dropped, we did find plenty to keep us occupied, including a very sleepy Hornet, a beautiful jade green Leafhopper, an obliging Green Bottle on the ripe blackberries and a Shaggy Pholiota.
Our next two field outings are to Monkwood, Worcestershire and Bradgate Park Leicestershire
