Dawn is a Blackpool born photographer with a background in theatre and dance. She has been pursuing street and social documentary photography for the last ten years. She is internationally published with several exhibitions held in the UK and abroad, notably Hamburg, Nova Scotia, Rome, Moscow and San Francisco.
Dawn is presently working on an ongoing project, ‘Documenting Blackpool’, and an image from this project was featured on the cover of ‘Seaside Special. Postcards from the Edge’ a collection of short stories from the North West coast of England, published by BlueMoose Books. Virgin Trains also featured images of Blackpool from the same project to promote their trains and travel to the seaside town.
Dawn is a Photovogue Italia contributor, with her work also exhibited and sold at ‘Loosenart’ gallery space in Rome.
In 2018 Dawn was nominated for the RPS Hundred Heroines campaign celebrating women in photography, whilst 2019 saw her images exhibited in the RPS Representation on the Line:(Un)framing our Identities held in Chelsea, Doncaster and Blackpool. For the latter, she also executed the roles of organiser and co-curator.
Most recently, Dawn was shortlisted for Rankin2020 with an image used in the opening carousel of images for the program on SkyArts.
Dawn is currently co-curating a continual change of exhibitions at Hive Blackpool, the alternative exhibition space in the centre of the town, working to support and engage with local artists enabling them to show their arts and host opening events.
