Céline Bodin
Meet the artist
Céline Bodin is a French photographer living and working in London. She first trained at the Gobelins School in Paris and in 2013 graduated with a Master’s degree in Photography from the London College of Communication. She is represented by Purdy Hicks Gallery, London, where she held her first solo exhibition in 2019. She has been included in several group exhibitions and publications such as The New Yorker, This Orient, Der Greif, Zoom, and more.
Céline’s work investigates the notions of gender and identity in Western culture, weighing the legacy of our art history. Her work is inspired by French Renaissance, Neoclassical and Realist painters and printmakers including Lucas Cranach, Leonardo Da Vinci, Gustave Courbet, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and others.
