Meet the artist
David George has been exploring photographic representations of the contemporary British landscape for forty years. He has a special interest in the constantly changing economic and socio-political world and much of his work is made at night using available light.
David has appropriated the sublime, melancholy, the romantic, the pastoral and the uncanny in several series of images. He creates work that can represent the contemporary landscape in a pictorialist way, whilst still being viewed as documenting the landscape.
In 2009 he co-founded the Uncertain States project with Fiona Yaron Field and Spencer Rowell and is an associate lecturer at several Universities.
