Homeland – East Jerusalem Landscapes
The city of Jerusalem has been the focal point of the Middle East conflict for decades. It is particularly in the occupied territory of East Jerusalem and the surrounding West Bank where the conflict has shaped the urban landscape in a most depressing way.
Palestinian residents and Israeli settlers live there under very different living conditions, side-by-side in one metropolitan area, in hostile neighborhood, separated by walls and fences and without any prospect of reconciliation and peace.
In my documentary style photographs, I explore these tortured landscapes and show the deep marks and scars that this conflict has left there over the decades.
