I offer my flower portraits of a painterly fashion, bringing out their unique personalities and inner depths.
Their grace, colour, fragility and scent evolved to attract insects and to lead them to the heart of the flower from where pollen is collected and taken to other flowers for the purpose of procreation. These are the features - some strong and bold, others shy and retiring - that are also attractive to humans. There is something of the insect in all of us! The shapes, colours and textures are a feast for our eyes. One wants to touch the petals to experience their surfaces or to brush against them to release their scents which evoke memories and emotions.
This is my world of flowers. I am sharing their beauty with you to allow you to experience joy, calm and hope. And, yes, flowers bring hope for the future.
