Documentary Photography and Print Degree

The RPS is proud to be supporting a brand-new course developed by boomsatsuma, a leading Bristol-based arts educational provider.

BA (Hons) Documentary Photography and Print, beginning September 2021, is a three-year course centred around the development of technical, creative and professional skills in the fields of publishing and documentary photography.

Taking place at RPS House, the degree combines traditional visual storytelling with contemporary photography, print design and production and is a unique opportunity to learn from leading photographers, educators and experts.

Applications are open to all. The course is suitable for anyone looking to develop their photography practice and expand their skillset. The course will provide you with a range of opportunities to participate in external projects, such as events, exhibitions, open studios, placements and publications.

''The RPS and boomsatsuma have been working in partnership for many years starting back in 2012 with a project called City Perspectives which involved working with divergent groups of young people to explore and express their perspective of a common location. More recently students from boomsatsuma have been involved in creating content for the Education resource section on our website, this includes artists interviews, podcasts and creating a 360 degree gallery of two of our exhibitions.  This unique relationship offers students real-life projects and experience and we obviously end up with some fantastic resources'' ( Liz Williams, RPS Education Manager)
