Statement of Intent
Ruby a passion
I played rugby to a reasonable standard, when I retired from the game I took up photography, after a while I was able to combine two passions. I have been lucky enough to photograph games at the highest levels and have had images published around the world.
Rugby aims to be inclusive allowing for different shapes and sizes but at the highest level the fitness and athleticism can take the breath away. Underpinning the game is an overall respect for the players, coaches, officials and fans. Supporters are key to the sport having a strong relationship with the players and clubs.
The panel comprises a set of images taken when on assignment for photographic agencies and submitted to various media outlets. I have presented the photographs in black and white so that the viewer can focus on the range of emotions, determination and athleticism of the players.
