My path into photography was not straightforward. I spent 14 years in music school and conservatory, then earned a BSc in Management and an MSc in Financial Management and Investment Analysis. In 2016, I accidentally drowned my Canon point-and-shoot camera in the sea and replaced it with a Nikon 7100. I had no idea what all those buttons meant or how the camera worked, but I was eager to learn, so I enrolled in a postgraduate offline photography course. The photography world turned out to be enormous and fascinating. After the course, I ended up with a list of photography topics I wanted to explore further rather than becoming a specialist right away. So, I continued to attend masterclasses and courses in various fields of photography, with different teachers of my choice, both offline and online.
Starting in 2017, my family travelled a lot, so I left my full-time job in finance and used this opportunity to explore photography as a creative means to share my experiences. From that point, photography became a significant part of my life, evolving from a passionate hobby into a powerful tool of artistic expression and storytelling. The opportunity to serve as the Regional Organiser for Central is both exciting and inspiring. I believe that my experience and enthusiasm for photography will enable me to effectively support and inspire our members, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community where photographers of all levels feel welcomed and encouraged.
My photographic interests cover a large number of genres, but today I mostly focus on nature and landscape photography. At the moment, I live in Shropshire, just next to the Welsh border, which gives me endless opportunities to explore beautiful forests, hills, and ancient monuments in the company of my Nikon D810.
