Project "Frontiers"

Welcome to Project "Frontiers", a collaboration between the Royal Photographic Society and the North Wales Photographic Association.

The aim of this project is to encourage photographers of all levels to work on a photography project in your vicinity, probably trying something you haven't attempted before, and to engage with fellow photographers.

The topic is the photographic exploration of peri-urban areas, often called “edgelands” or “fringelands”, and the idea is to photographically approach locations we are usually inclined to regard as not worthy to be photographed.

This project has now finished and resulted in the production of two photobooks, one with the contribution by 17 participants in North Wales ("Frontiers - Edgelands in North Wales"), and one with text and images by 46 photographers in North Wales and England ("Frontiers - Views on Edgelands").
