Project "Frontiers"

Welcome to Project "Frontiers", a collaboration between the Royal Photographic Society and the North Wales Photographic Association.

The aim of this project is to encourage photographers of all levels to work on a photography project in your vicinity, probably trying something you haven't attempted before, and to engage with fellow photographers.

The topic is the photographic exploration of peri-urban areas, often called “edgelands” or “fringelands”, and the idea is to photographically approach locations we are usually inclined to regard as not worthy to be photographed.

Which photography approach you choose is entirely up to you. This can be a landscape, documentary, natural history, architectural or creative approach, or even a conceptual approach, to name but a few.

Everybody can participate. You don't need to be or become a member of any photographic organisation.

Participants will form groups and meet online, to discuss each others work, and to seek and give inspiration, help and support.

The project duration is July - September 2021.

We intent to create a self-published photo book with the work of all participants.

We're looking forward to working with you.
