Smartphone Photography with Nigel Goldsmith

Event info

While the technical image quality and features of a smartphone camera cannot compare with the modern dedicated digital camera, its compact size makes it an attractive tool for spontaneous or discreet photography. In this session, Nigel Goldsmith will show you how to access some of the controls and features familiar to those with dedicated cameras and introduce some of advanced features. During the session he will demonstrate preparation, focus control, exposure, accessories and creative controls. Most of the features covered are common to both Android and iPhones. Watch with your smartphone to hand! You might want to follow along with the session using your own mobile device. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session.

Nigel Goldsmith is a photographer and video artist. His work is widely published in the UK and abroad. Some of the work he has produced using smartphones has been shortlisted for major art prizes including the 2019 John Ruskin Prize. Nigel has a BA in Photography and and MA in Fine Art.
