Photoshop The McKelvey Way with Ross McKelvey

This photoshop tutorial will feature a host of tips and tricks for an improved workflow. Actions and shortcuts are essential to perform Photoshop tasks the 'McKelvey Way.' Ross will demonstrate simple actions that will allow you to perform everyday tasks such as vignetting or selective brightening with the click of a button. Ross coined the phrase 'don't be a wanger....!' - by which he means do not move sliders in a random, ad hoc way - be more precise in how you change levels and curves, and you will learn a workflow that is predictable and repeatable.

Ross McKelvey MFIAP MPAGB EFIAP/p FBPE FIPF holds two Fellowships and two Masters' qualifications and has been a prolific award winner in International Salons and Exhibitions for eight years - being named No.1 in the World for large monochrome prints in the Photographic Society of America's "Whos Who" in photography in both 2017 and 2018. A Fotospeed Ambassador, Ross specialises in the print format. Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Ross runs studio and fine art workshops in his commercial studio known as Catchlight Studio.

Zoom video-conferencing

This event will take place via Zoom video-conference. You will be emailed a link in advance so you can join the event. During the event you will be able to see : Ross McKelvey and his images. You will be able to interact with him to ask questions after his session. A brief introduction to using Zoom.

Booking a place

You need to book online in order to access this event. This event is free for Digital Imaging members, but these members still have to ‘purchase’ a (free) ticket to receive a link for joining the event.

Please check whether your membership in the RPS or RPS Digital Imaging is still active before booking your place. This will be checked when ticketing closes, and any mistake could invalidate your ticket. Check your status by logging into the RPS website.

If you are outside the UK this service will help you to calculate the timing of the online workshop.
