East Midlands Workshop on Photobook Concept and Sequencing
Event info
Stewart Wall is the East Midlands Regional Organiser and the Chair of the RPS Distinctions Photobook Genre and Richard Hall is one of his fellow assessors on the Photobook Genre Panel.
The World of Photobooks is very exciting, and are very different from an Photo-album of images that other RPS Distinction genres asssess, but what makes that difference?
This workshop will help you start to understand the difference and assist you in developing two vital ingredients: 1) Your Concept, and 2) A Sequence.
Experts agree that it is vital for a photobook to have a concept and that sequencing is a vital component of a concept.
This session will introduce you to the tools that will enable you to develop a strong concept, and then discuss how to create a sequence that will make sense of your concept to the audience. The session engages with concepts taught in Stewart Wall's 9 session online Photobook course, an example of which can be seen by clicking here
You are welcome to bring your own work to gain advice on different ways of sequencing it, but examples will be provided
Spaces are limited for this in-person workshop
