He has pursued his interest in unapologetically, celebrating both black and queer sexualities, pleasure, desire and difference. Through risk-taking, experimentation, and transgressing debates within contemporary photography, his black and white images have developed a visual philosophy and aesthetic, maintaining pleasure, desire, the erotic, and the sens-exual at the centre of the frame.

Ajamu has an exhibition coming to an end shortly at Autograph in London Ajamu: The Patron Saint of Darkrooms | Free Exhibition 28 April – 2 September 2023 | Autograph London.

Ajamu also has a new book out https://autograph.org.uk/shop/ajamu-the-patron-saint-of-darkrooms-1124.

Ingrid Pollard is a photographer, media artist and researcher. She is a graduate of the London College of Printing and Derby University. Ingrid has developed a social practice concerned with representation, history and landscape with reference to race, difference and the materiality of lens based media. Her work is included in numerous collections including the UK Arts Council and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
