About our Events
All are welcome at the Digital Imaging Group Southern events which are held at Ringwood in the Greyfriars Community Centre, 44 Christchurch Road, BH24 1DW.
We aim to hold up to four lectures/demonstrations and/or Hands-on workshops each year. These we hope will be informative, instructive and inspirational given by speakers who are well established in their fields of expertise.
Meetings are usually held on a Sunday starting at 10.30 am and finishing by 4.00 pm. Access to the venue is from 10.00 am. There is disable access and a public address system. The capacity of the hall is 85 to 90
Tea and coffee is available before the meetings and during the lunch break.
Delegates are advised to bring a packed lunch - although sandwiches are usually available at Waitrose or Salisbury's stores in the town about 5 to 10 minute walk.
For the Hands-on workshops, delegates are required to bring their own laptops with appropriate software loaded. Power points are provided and maximum capacity is 20 delegates.

There are a limited number of free parking spaces next door to the Community Centre at the Library. There is also a Pay and Display Car park near by accessible from Christchurch Road.
COVID-19 and DIG Southern Events
The disease risk is falling and lockdown measures are being gradually lifted, but there is still uncertainty, and therefore we have no plans for face-to-face meetings at Greyfriars Community Centre for the remainder of 2020.
However, we plan to contribute to the DIG program of on-line zoom meetings.

Booking a place
You will need to book online in order to be able to access this event. Booking closes at noon 2 days before the event. This event is free for Digital Imaging Group members, but members still must ‘purchase’ a (free) ticket so we can send you a link for joining the event. If you are not an RPS member you will need to register (for free) with the RPS website in order to book.
Please check whether your membership of the RPS or the Digital Imaging Group is still active before booking your place. This will be checked when ticketing closes, and any mistake could invalidate your ticket. Check your status by logging into the RPS website HERE.
After booking you will receive an RPS – Event Booking Confirmation email. If you do not receive this, you have not succeeded in booking a ticket. On the day of the event you will receive an email with the joining link from firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have not received your joining link by 14.30 please email email@example.com with the Order Number from your RPS confirmation email. Please do this before 15.30, since problems cannot be sorted after that time.
Your personal data (name, email address and telephone number) that you supply when booking the online event will be passed to the Digital Imaging Group organiser in order to enable them to:
- Contact you in advance of the event to remind you or notify you of joining instructions (or changes thereto) etc.
- Contact you at short notice before or during an event in case of any emergency or last-minute changes
- Contact you at the end of the event for your feedback
By booking this event you are deemed to consent to this transfer of your data.
The event may be recorded and published. By joining the event you are deemed to consent to our making a recording of the event available online afterwards.
