40% Project Press Release Information

For RPS WIP Photographer

Share Your MP Portrait with Local Media

As part of The 40% Project, we’ve created a press release template for photographers to complete with their MP’s portrait and information. This makes it simple to share your work — and the project — with local media and community groups.

📄 Press Release Template (Word): Download and complete here

How to Use

  1. Download the Word document (go to 'File' and then 'Download' to edit).

  2. Insert your MP’s portrait in the image space provided.

  3. Complete all sections marked with square brackets in the template with the relevant details.

  4. Add a short photographer’s statement in the space provided.

  5. Save the document and attach it to your email before sending.

Who to Send It To

  • Local newspapers and magazines (look for “news@…” or “editor@…” on their websites).

  • Regional news desks e.g. BBC, ITV, Sky, C4 etc

  • Community and arts radio stations.

  • Local women’s organisations and networks.

  • Arts and culture newsletters or community bulletin boards.

  • Your MP’s constituency office (they often share coverage in newsletters and on social channels).

Even one or two mentions in local media can make a big difference, helping the project gain momentum and highlight this historic milestone.
