We're delighted to offer RPS Women in Photography members the opportunity to have their image featured on the cover of the September issue of WE ARE Magazine.

By submitting to our competition, your image could be chosen for the front or back cover. Selected runners-up will be shown inside the magazine. We welcome any genre, style or technique. Voting: 15th July - 12th August 2024.

This exhibition asked Women In Photography members to respond to a statement – “who dared to dream” – and seeks to bring together a variety of different photography styles and approaches from photographers at all levels of photographic practice.

It aims to celebrate contemporary female-identifying photographers including trans, queer and non-binary people including those from a diverse ethnic and underrepresented background who have used photography to effect change.

The statement is taken from an interview with Joy Gregory HonFRPS about her new book Shining Lights (MACK, 2024).

'Equal' is the latest challenge from the RPS Women in Photography group. WIP members are invited to submit their image(s) that explore equality in society.

February 2024

Thanks to all WIP members who entered the cover competition. Congratulations to Angela Crosti (above) and Trish Crawford ARPS (below) for securing the front and back covers of February's 2024 WE ARE Magazine

Timed to coincide with International Women’s Day on 8 March, 2023 images were selected following a vote by WIP membership and curated with the assistance of Tracy Marshall Grant to be displayed in the outdoor exhibition at RPS House, Bristol.  The exhibition ran from 8 March to 15 April 2023.  

Congratulations to the WIP members who are being exhibited.

The UN General Assembly declared February 11th as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science to inspire progress toward gender equality in science and technology. 

To celebrate and support this initiative, the RPS Women in Photography group is launching our first annual Woman Science Photographer of the Year competition.  The competition is open to any female and female-identifying photographers.
