An acclaimed photographer born in South Africa and based in the UK, Michelle Sank HonFRPS was honoured for her services to photography in the RPS Awards 2024. Her work has been recognised in prestigious awards and competitions including IPE 164, the Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize, the IPA Awards and the Juliet Margaret Cameron Award. In 2024 she won the Open Competition in the Portraiture category of the Sony World Photography Awards.

Michelle picked the following images from hundreds of images submitted by members. “I chose these images for their ability to reveal something unknown in the “known” and to challenge viewers to explore them with a new personal narrative. This enhanced by the way the chosen photographic language concept worked together in each of these photographs.”
