This week we bid welcome to Evan Dawson who takes up his post as RPS Chief Executive Officer. He comes to us from the performing arts charity sector but in addition to his management experience he is an accomplished photographer in his own right. You will see one of his images above.
Over the past few years he has been Photographer in Residence at St George’s concert venue in Bristol, taken portraits for the Bristol Festival of Ideas and wildlife shots for Bristol Zoo. So in addition to leading the operations side of the RPS he is familiar with a range of genres too. You can see more on his web site.
You will find a picture on Evan in the new look RPS Journal on page 523. But rather than use another "head and shoulders" shot of Evan it seemed more appropriate to illustrate this with one of his photographs. I was particularly taken with the orchestra work for the message it sends. An orchestra is a bunch of musicians but it works because they pull in a common direction, working as a team to deliver something larger.
