Winners Announcement

Landscape Group Members submitted another stunning collection of images to the Landscape Group competition during November 2022.

1st Place

Moonrise over Sassalungo by Mark Gorman

Myself and two friends travelled to the Dolomites to shoot landscape. This particular day we got the last cable car to the Alpe di Siusi the largest high altitude Alpine meadow in Europe and waited for sunset. As it meant a long walk back there were only a handful of photographers left after the last car departed and I set up on a ridge with the classic view looking at the peaks. As the sun dropped and the mountain began to glow a tiny white speck appeared between the peaks and with a collective intake of breath for everyone the moon rose from behind the mountain between the peaks. It was an almost surreal couple of moments as there was a perfect balance of light with the fading sunset and the rising moon that the shot is a single exposure. The image is good but the experience was profound.

How To Enter

RPS Landscape Group members may submit one jpg image, per month.  Before submitting, please resize your image to no more than 2000px wide. 

Members are able to add their own image on the monthly competition page by clicking on the 'Add Photo'.  After loading the image please add the title and your name and do include your RPS distinction.  

Winners and runners up will have their images displayed in RPS Landscape publications, RPS Landscape Facebook and the RPS website.

All Landscape Group members will be invited to vote and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed winners will be announced on the RPS Landscape Group website and Facebook on the 1st of the month.

Open for entries 1st to 23rd.

Voting takes place 24th to 28th.

The Prize is the superbly written and illustrated book Robert Harvey's in hard cover, Britain's Best Landscapes and How to Photograph Them.
