Statement of Intent
For my A Panel I wanted to challenge myself and deliberately push myself outside of my comfort zone of wide-angle coastal photography.
Since moving to Anglesey I have become increasingly fascinated by Mynydd Parys (Parys Mountain), a vast disused opencast copper mine, finding that rather than the wider landscape my attention has become increasingly drawn to the beauty of the smaller and macro-scale abstract detail in the various rock surfaces.
I have revelled in revisiting Parys throughout the seasons capturing the fantastic variety of colours, textures and patterns created by both the naturally occurring minerals and as a legacy of over 4,000 years of mining activity.
