Lydney Photo Walk
Lydney Docks Photo Walk
Photo Walk

Discover Lydney docks in this member-led photowalk. We will start from the Hips Harbourside Cafe at Lydney docks at 2.30 pm. Low tide is expected to be around 4.40pm and sunset, for those wishing to stay that long, at 7.12pm in the evening. As the tide goes out the birds come in to feed on the sandbanks.

We will walk around the harbour and then along the canal. We will then move onto Lydney Estate land and walk along the estuary, giving good views of the sandbanks and the Severn Bridges in the distance.

There is ample parking on Harbour Road and toilet facilities are available at the harbour near to the Hips Harbourside Cafe, which closes at 4pm.

James Kerwin: Abandoned & Heritage Architecture
Online talk

James has committed the last ten years to documenting the beauty of forsaken, dilapidated, or forgotten architectural wonders. He started taking architectural photos in late 2013, which took him into hidden corners and abandoned areas of cities all over the world. 'Decadence,' his first series, began his investigation into deserted buildings.

James has built a comprehensive portfolio that features some of the world's most fascinating places. At the moment his style is one of clear lines and vibrant colour palettes. He enhances the photos with modern post-processing methods.

James's journeys, in pursuit of new experiences, have been countless, and in 2019 he based himself permanently outside of the UK; starting a photography adventure tour company, first in Tbilisi, Georgia then Türkiye, at the beginning of 2022.

James's portfolio shows that travel is a key component of his photographic storytelling. His curiosity about various cuisines, textures, colours, and cultures inspires him to travel to some truly unique places.
