RPS Landscape Group
Our Team
The Landscape Group is run entirely by volunteers. Here are the people behind it.
Elected Volunteers
The Committee
The committee is responsible for the direction of the Group and for its day to day running, from events and competitions to the magazine and the Group’s finances. Every member below gives their time voluntarily, and all of them are glad to hear from members.
Colin Balfour ARPS
Chair Officer
I have been a keen photographer for many years and enjoy landscape photography of all types. I live in Edinburgh, so I have incredible scenery on my doorstep, and I regularly travel to locations across Scotland, the Lake District and Northumberland.
Viv Cotton ARPS
Secretary Officer
I will dabble and experiment with just about any genre of photography, but I especially like getting out and about and photographing landscapes. My current project is photographing Scottish Castles in IR, which has taken me all over Scotland in the last few years.
Trevor Judd
Finance Officer Officer
I started out shooting film in my teenage years, and returning to photography in the digital era has reawakened my interest. My professional life has been spent predominantly in finance roles, and I have a particular interest in the production of fine art botanical portraits.
Chris McIntosh LRPS
Professional Events Manager
My early steps into photography as a boy were encouraged by my grandfather, who had a 1940s 35mm camera, and the whole process enthralled me. Photography has been in the background all my working life, but in the last few years I have been trying to catch up with lost time.
Howard Klein LRPS
Member Events Manager, Exhibition
landscapeexhibitionmemberevents@rps.org
I have always enjoyed being outdoors and always thought that “just being there” was underrated, so landscape photography held a natural attraction for me. Given my love of colder places, I love Scotland, with its ever-changing weather and challenges; the East Sussex coast remains my go to place.
Candia Peterson ARPS
Magazine Editor
Having lived in the French Alps for 17 years, I swapped one set of mountains for another with a move to the Catskills of Upstate New York in 2019. I have been fortunate to live in a beautiful landscape for most of the last twenty years, and I am also passionate about architectural and abstract photography.
David Travis FRPS
Circles
When digital cameras appeared, I could instantly see what the various camera settings did, and I have been a serious photographer ever since. I discovered the RPS just before the pandemic, and I now manage the Landscape Group’s critique and processing circles.

Born in Hong Kong and based in Australia, I am a self-taught visual artist, educator and photographer.
