Travel Image of the Month - January 2021 : Semana Santa, Night Parade, Jerez - Jay Charnock
Richard Lewis ARPS our judge for this month commented:-
"Having studied the January images, and it doesn't get any easier!
"There were several very striking ones, but following much deliberation, my conclusions are:
"Winner: Semana Santa, Night Parade, Jerez. - Jay Charnock
"A very strong and dramatic composition conveying sense of place. Well suited to its deep yet subtle shadowed monochrome treatment and portrait format. Nicely composed with the two leading figures in the light and the third in shadows behind."

Highly Commended:
-
Morning Light in Old Havana, Cuba. - Kai Kong Wong
A simple atmospheric image that conveys a strong sense of both place and time. Well positioned figures, nicely silhouetted and emphasised by their divergent shadows on the cobbles. -
Grand Mosque by Night, Abu Dhabi. - John Robertson
A very ethereal image – both in its colours and its tones. Strong sense of place. -
Below the Cutty Sark. - Steve Day
Another strong and dramatic composition – very geometric and symmetrical and nicely contained within its frame.
Congratulations to Jay, her winning shot will be added to the Travel Image of the Month page on the website, with the overall monthly winners competing to be the Group’s best travel photograph of the year.
