Impactful Initiatives
The 40% Project: Launched to commemorate that 40% of UK Members of Parliament are women, this initiative aims to photograph all 264 female MPs. As of May 2025, 140 MPs have been paired with photographers, with plans for a nationwide outdoor exhibition in summer 2026.
WE ARE Magazine: This biannual publication showcases the work and narratives of women photographers globally. The September 2025 issue, marking its 11th edition, featured nearly 300 pages of diverse photographic stories.
SELFIES Exhibition: An online exhibition that received over 500 submissions, highlighting the diversity and creativity in self-portraiture among women photographers.
Community and Collaboration
Events and Workshops: RPS WIP organises various events, including member-led workshops, talks by professional women photographers and monthly 'Show and Tell' meet-ups for members and students, fostering education and collaboration within the community.
Volunteer-Driven: The group's operations are supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, including roles such as Chair, Secretary, Magazine Editor, Exhibitions and Social Media Coordinator, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive environment.
