With sadness I have to mark the sudden passing of one of our stalwart volunteers. Rhys Jones was Regional Organiser for our South Wales region until his death last weekend. A fuller tribute appears elsewhere but here are some personal memories.
Our paths crossed a number of times. The most memorable occasion was earlier this year, the last planned public lecture by David Hurn HonFRPS. This was a special meeting organised by the RPS South Wales Region and hosted in the main lecture at Cardiff University School of Journalism Media and Culture (JOMEC).
The enthusiasm and commitment to photography of David and Rhys together was infectious. I had been invited along to close the event and after the formal proceedings we exchanged thoughts together. The above image of Rhys, David and myself together is the memory I will carry onwards.
David Hurn extolled us to "Do it well". Rhys did it well, at that event and through his service to the RPS.
