In a previous item on the diversity of photography I noted my view that we need more examples of real role models to encourage more entrants to photography as a profession. At the RPS Good Picture event in December I came across a great example in the form of James Mann FRPS, professional car photographer. James gave a talk at this event entitled "Automobile Photography Through the Ages". He drew some great parallels between the development of the automobile and photography. "From those first pioneer days the two technologies of cars and photography have raced forward together in parallel. From glass plate to digital, from diesel to electric, their stories are integrally linked."
James does 3 workshops per year for The Society and you can check out his work here.
