IPE 163 Open House Talks: Naomi Wood

Event info

International Photography Exhibition 163 - Artist Talks

To celebrate the opening of the IPE 163, the RPS is delighted to have a series of talks from exhibitors as part of the IPE Open House on 16 April.

Naomi Wood based in Somerset, UK explores the camera's ability as a therapeutic tool. Seeking to work from a nuanced perspective, Naomi's raw images explore urgent conversations.

Naomi's self-portrait featured in the exhibition comes from her long-term exploration of matrescence from the confines of a static caravan; 'I Wake To Listen'. The non-linear documentation of the three years from newborn to toddler-hood, uses self as subject, often brutally confronting the reality of her experience as a new mother.

The talk will give an insight into the work and the political importance of holding space for new parents at this time.

Entry to the talk is free for everyone. Please consider purchasing a ticket which includes a donation of £5. As an independent charity, the RPS needs your support, and your donation helps us to continue our mission of bringing 'Photography for Everyone'.
