Continuing on our theme “We’re all in it together” and reflecting on the impact of COVID-19 and the lockdown we’d like to showcase the work of Sally Sallett ARPS, @pineapple_pix on Instagram.  This is the second in a series of blogs.

“Shattered”, above, is an image of her daughter who is an Operating Department Practitioner at a large general hospital in the UK midlands. Like 1000s of others in our hospitals, she’s working 12 hour shifts in theatres, during the COVID-19 crisis. In the first weeks of the crisis there was a lack of personal protective equipment (PPE).  When Sally’s daughter finally received adequate PPE, she sent a selfie taken at the end of a shift. The image was edited to illustrate how front-line NHS staff were feeling, as she put it “the eyes say it all”.

The image “Hanging on”, below, is a composite of all the things that mattered to Sally when the outbreak began.
