Landscape Group Relaunches Member-Led Events

by Howard Klein LRPS

The recent Landscape Group Membership Survey indicated that 74% expressed interest in attending an outdoor field trip run by a group member.  Having started work mid-April, we are already well on the way to running 20 such events - thanks to the willingness of member leaders to volunteer.  Over time, we are aiming to deliver a good geographic spread, with a wide range of field trips: coastal, hills & dales, woodland, cityscapes etc; from early-morning shoots to fuller days.

Here is the list (at time of writing) – just click on the event to read the information and book your place.  With more locations being researched, this list may have grown by the time you receive this newsletter, so for the up-to-date list click [Events] on the Landscape’s home page https://rps.org/landscape-group/

11 July 2023 - Coniston Coppermines

23 August 2023 - Ancient Suffolk Woodland

01 September 2023 - Brimham Rocks (N.Yorkshire)

03 September 2023 - Low Tide at Seven Sisters

23 September 2023 - Twistleton & Southerscales

24 September 2023 - London Around The Thames

29 September 2023 - Ebbing Tide at Sandymouth

30 September 2023 - Woodland at Ranmore Common

07 October 2023 - The Deben: Woodbridge & Bawdsey

20 October 2023 - High Shaw Woods, Yorkshire Dales

18 November 2023 - A Day in the Mendip Hills AONB

Obviously, the more volunteers we have, the greater our range of shoots to be offered, so please contact me if you have a favourite location to share with others.  Also, we are looking for events in Wales, The Midlands, The South Coast, North East Coast and more across Scotland (we have some in pipeline).

From the 2023 Membership Survey, everyone who indicated interest in leading a field trip has been contacted – however a couple of people didn’t leave their names, so please get in touch.  Thank you to those who answered the survey expressing an interest in leading an online event or offering other help, we will review these in June, after the survey has closed.
