International Photography Exhibition 163
On Saturday 16 April, the RPS is hosting a range of activities for visitors to celebrate the opening of the 163rd International Photography Exhibition, including fascinating talks from exhibiting photographers, tintype portraits and more. Exhibiting photographers and RPS staff members will also be present to talk to visitors and answer questions about the new exhibition and the RPS.

A first look at IPE 163
IPE 163 opens on Saturday 16 April, and we encourage you to have a look around while you visit us. With 105 works chosen anonymously from a worldwide open call, the IPE 163 is a powerful exhibition that demonstrates the breadth of contemporary image-making and storytelling today. There will also be informal talks by IPE 163 exhibitors in RPS Gallery during the day.

Tintype Portrait Sessions
We are pleased to host the return of the much-loved tintype photographer Gareth Jarvis, who will be running portrait sessions throughout the day to create a unique portrait using a fascinating photographic process.
These sessions will give you an insight into Gareth's process as well as a unique and memorable portrait to take home with you.

Family friendly activities
We will be offering a collection of family-friendly photography-based activities to keep smaller hands busy throughout the day, facilitated by RPS staff.
Booking won't be required for these activities and more information and details will be provided soon.

Exclusive prints and zine for sale
This year we have produced a limited edition zine as an extension of the exhibition, available to purchase at RPS House. These are limited to 300 and will be available for sale at RPS Gallery.
We will also be selling prints of selected entries to IPE 163, both from the shortlist and from the exhibition. These will be available on the day of the event only, and are limited to one print of each image.
