DIG - LRPS Support Group

Announcing the Digital Imaging Group's LRPS Support Group!

Now that the RPS Distinctions team have organised the new LRPS processes and submissions, with everything being online, the DI Committee felt that we should support our members by offering a new LRPS Support Group. This will offer a facilitated online group for all DI members who are working towards their Licentiateship, no matter where they are on the journey.

First, we will hold an online preliminary LRPS Support Group meeting for any DI members wanting to know more about this new group. You will get to meet the facilitators, ask questions and give us feedback. It will also aid us to understand the level of interest from members. So whether you are thinking you wish to get involved right away, or perhaps sometime in the future, we invite you to join us on Wednesday 23 October at 10.00 BST.

Thinking about trying for your LRPS?

Do you want to join a helpful supportive group of DI Members?

The DI LRPS Support Group meets monthly on the 3rd Friday of the month for 90 minutes at 10:00 UK time to discuss potential Licentiateship panels.

A maximum of eight members at various stages of their Licentiateship journey share their work and the discussion is facilitated by two facilitators.

This forum doesn’t replace Advisory Days or a 1:1, but facilitates exchanges of opinions and gives an opportunity to the participants not only to share their successes, disappointments and challenges, but also to support and keep each other motivated.

To enquire about joining, email John Porter and Marie-Ange Bouchard on DISupportGroup@rps.org.

"Whether it’s shooting with an iPhone or using a mirrorless camera with vintage lenses, I’m always exploring new ways to capture the world around me. I have a particular passion for street and macro photography, though I admire all genres of photographic work.

"On a more formal note, I hold an ARPS, a CPAGB, and a BPE1. I am a camera club judge and I’ve also been involved in assessing potential judges for the Surrey Photographic Association. Previously, I served as Treasurer and Webmaster for the RPS South East region and also spent four years on the Licentiateship Distinction panel. It is always my pleasure to help and support others on their photographic journey."

"I enjoy all forms of photography and love to experiment with different genres and am never happier than when photographing out of my comfort zone. My main interests lie in wildlife and landscapes, which I have been fortunate enough to combine with my travels around the world.

"I am a club photographer and have been President of my local club in North East Manchester. Currently I am Vice President and webmaster. Besides being a judge for competitions at my club I also give talks on a variety of subjects to clubs in the North West Region.

"In 2010 I was successful in achieving a Licentiateship and I am also a CPAGB. I frequently assist individuals who are working towards Award schemes, so I am looking forward to facilitating the LRPS Support Group."
