Recent Past Events
This Workshop is aimed at people who are new to the RPS Distinctions System or have already got their Licentiate and now want to find out about Associate. Numbers are limited places to ensure everyone gets the time they need.
The event is being run by an RPS Panel Assessor but will also feature members who have recently gained their distinctions and who will be able to describe their journeys
For the first of our online lectures David Keep is joining us to talk about something many us work towards, which is project based work.
David is well known on the camera club circuit and has won many awards for his highly individual work, and I am sure it will prove to be an excellent couple of hours.
When Shy returns to us, this time via zoom it will be fascinating to discover what she will talk about, because since she last spoke to us she has done all sorts of projects including some which have been Art Council funded.
Michael Poole is one of our Royal Photographic Society East Midlands regional members and once told me he was keen to promote photographing sport. He was actively involved in sports photography himself and finds himself covering all sorts of events

The Statement of intent is a vital component when it comes to successful Distinctions Assessment so it is vital to get it right.
Richard Brayshaw FRPS is one of the societies experts when it comes to statement writing and the East Midlands Distinctions study group have invited him along to talk to them about Associate and Fellowship applications. Although Richard is an assessor for Contemporary and you might be looking at other genres the group invite all to drop in and learn more about writing statements of intent.

We all know Dave, the serial in-person camera club speaker about his jovial, caught moments on the street, but now he is zooming.
Whether he will be in his 'pink pants' is only for him and his wife to know!
In a time before photoshop and pixels photographers still produced photographs with amazing special effects, and Jay Myrdal FRPS was a professional photographer who did just that for major clients.
